Testimony: As a young boy, I trusted Christ as my Saviour. The first time that I visited a church around the corner the Sunday school teacher changed his whole lesson to share the Gospel with me. I already knew what sin was, but he showed me that through the Bible Christ could save me from it. That afternoon in my bedroom as a ten year old boy I confessed my need for Christ and asked him to save me. Educational Background: Bachelor of Theology Family Life: Married to Sara in 2002 5 children and a dog Hobbies: Running, Reading, Cooking (not necessarily in that order) Favorite Quote or Bible Verse: Jeremiah 9:23-24 23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Why Do I Teach?: I have always loved learning, I believe the investment in the lives of young people for the cause of Christ is invaluable. To help a young person obtain a Biblical world view is very important. We don’t just teach academics, but Christian life skills; practical Christianity. My Expectations of My Students: To do their best to think. So many young people these days don’t know how to think. We have many class discussions to help develop these needful skills. My Expectations of My Staff: What I look for in staff members is four fold. First, I look for a professional and seriousness about Christian education. Next, can they do the tasks daily that will be asked of them which includes having to be flexible and focused at the same time. Then, how do they work with others. As a staff member we need peace makers and problem solvers. Lastly, I evaluate the staff member’s Christian character. Their spirit is very important. It is that spirit that will be replicated so many times over in each of their students. A personal, genuine and sincere walk with the Lord is a must!

Testimony: I grew up in a Christian home. My mom led me to the Lord when I was four years old. I remember it was in church on the backroom steps. I wanted to teach at a very young age. We lived in Batavia since I was a little girl and I grew up in a very good church. I went through the ACE program and graduated their Christian school. I went to college then returned to teach in the Christian school of my church. In 2012 my dad, sister and I began attending Walker. I was very concerned that my job as an activities assistant was cutting hours and I no longer taught at the school at the Batavia church. Unbeknownst to me the school at Walker was transitioning, they were losing one teacher to marriage and the mission field and another to having a baby and the mission field. The academy also just “happened” to use the ACE curriculum which is the curriculum wherein I was trained and taught children for nearly a decade. It was such a wonderful experience realizing that God had planned my transition to LOBA. A year later my dad bought a house in Brockport and I moved here with my dad. Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Crown College of the Bible ACE Teacher’s Convention Certifications Family Life: I live with my dad. My mom passed away from cancer. It’s me, dad and the two crazy cats. Hobbies: Playing piano, cleaning, scrapbooking, and prepping for class ideas I have Favorite Quote and/or Bible Verse: Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ Why Do I Teach?: God called me to teach. I prepared myself by attending college, but I have always had a desire to impact young people’s lives. My Expectations of My Students: I want them to always please the Lord with everything that they do. They should work at their best level. I am most concerned that they each develop a personal relationship with the Lord.

Testimony: I attended youth camp the summer of 1982. On the last day, during the last service, the Holy Spirit touched my heart and I went forward to talk with my camp counsellor. The verses I knew and had previously memorized became real to me and my eyes were open to my need to ask Jesus Christ to be my personal Saviour. I am so thankful for godly junior and teen summer camps. Family Life: Married to Pastor Phil Huber in 1994, four children, one dog and a cat. Hobbies: Piano, sewing, running Favorite Quote or Bible Verse: Psalm 73:25-28 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee. My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. My Expectations of My Students: To begin to see the needs of others more than themselves. To look to give 100% everyday – a good workman not ashamed. I pray that they see the worth in eternal and lay up treasures there rather than the temporal. That they start thinking about what they already want to do after school and prepare themselves for Him even now. For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Testimony: My parents were both saved when I was very young. I grew up going to church and Sunday School; I knew all about salvation. It was not until I was 12 years old that my knowledge of salvation became personal. I realized my personal need for a Savior after a Wednesday night service at Teen Camp. I spoke to my counselor, telling her I knew I needed to get saved. She took me through the familiar verses of the Romans Road. That night I prayed, asking the Lord to save me and surrendering my life to Him. I remain very thankful for the sacrifices the adults in my life made to make going to camp possible. Educational Background: Bachelor of Science Degree in English from SUNY at Brockport Associate of Science Degree in Human Services from GCC Certification in Early Childhood Education (N-K), Elementary Education (PreK-6), and English Education (6-12) Family Life: Married Jason in 2004. We have 4 children. Hobbies: Piano, Reading, Sewing/Crafting, Thrifting Favorite Quote/Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul." Ruth 2:12 "The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established Why Do I Teach? I have always loved working with children. I began working in Children’s Ministry as soon as I could. It seemed natural to pursue a degree in education in college. The Lord has given me a love for learning and a desire to share that with children. Teaching in a Christian setting gives me the added benefit of sharing the Lord with children, and the love I have for HIm. That’s my desire. I count it a privilege to be able to help guide children toward the Lord. And if they learn to love learning along the way that makes it even better. My Expectations of My Students: I’ve recently read a quote, “It’s okay not to know, but it’s not okay not to try.” I want each of my students to learn to give everything they do everything they’ve got. Not because that’s what I want or because that’s what their parents want, but because that’s what God wants. God desires us to do everything heartily for Him. I want to help each student realize that the only way to accomplish this is by leaning on God’s strength, no their own.

Testimony: I was saved on July 7, 2004. My mom, brother and I came on the bus a couple months prior. In 2005, Pastor Huber started Lake Ontario Baptist Academy. I was very excited to switch over to that school, until I heard there was going to be a uniform. :) I made poor decisions in my first several years of school; tried taking short cuts, things like that. I found myself in trouble quite often. It wasn't until 8th or 9th grade that I chose to do right. I graduated in 2012 and in the fall went to Monroe Community College and graduated from there with an Associates Degree in photography. On September 12, 2015, I married Roger. We both faithfully serve at church. We teach Sunday School together. Roger often teaches Jr. Church and leads the LOBA high school choir and also leads the youth choir at church. I worked at Venture Forthe for a three and a half years before coming to teach at LOBA. Educational Background: Graduated Lake Ontario Baptist Academy, Associate Degree in Photography from Monroe Community College, ACE Teacher Certified Family Life: I was married to Roger on September 12, 2015. We have three Siamese cats and one dog. Hobbies: : Photography, sewing, baking, puzzles Favorite Quote/Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast." Why Do I Teach? I worked a secular job for almost five years. In February of 2017, Pastor Russo mentioned needing a teacher for the next school year. Roger and I didn't think much of it at the time. Then in May, Pastor Russo asked us to strongly consider it. We prayed about it for some time and had peace about the switch. I grew up in LOBA taking courses from 5th level to graduation. So years later coming back, to serve as a teacher is beyond exciting! I want my students to grow in the Lord and learn academics just as I did. My Expectations of My Students: To always do their very best, whether it is in their PACE work, sports or serving the Lord. I strive for them to do everything to the best of their ability. I want them to love the Lord more and more each day and to grow closer to Him.

Testimony: I grew up in a Christian home. At a camp meeting the Lord convicted me concerning my salvation so I reconfirmed my salvation with my dad. I was eleven years old. I was active in church ministry as a young person but it wasn't until my recent missions trip (Zacatecas 2015) that I now can say that I am fully surrendered to the Lord. He has shown Himself faithful in my day to day living but it was that missions trip that increased my faith to the level of confidence I need to be the teacher I believe the Lord has appointed me to be. He showed me in a very practical way that I can trust Him implicitly and I now know that whatever He calls me to do He will equip me to handle. Educational Background: Graduated North Star Christian Academy, ACE Teacher Certified Family Life: Married in 1998 with three children, one cat and a tortoise. Hobbies: Running, reading and baking Favorite Quote/Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Why Do I Teach? I see now where the Lord has graciously directed my footsteps to my teaching job here at LOBA. It is amazing how the Lord orchestrated my service at school. I recently found an old paper that I wrote in fifth grade where I said I wanted to be a wife, mom, secretary and/or teacher. Looking back I can see that God ignited a desire in me even at that very young age to teach. He gently eased me into a staff teaching position as an adult with children of my own. He also graciously led the way so I was not overwhelmed by the awesome responsibility that it is to influence young people each and every day. I believe I have been called to do what I do as I mentioned in my testimony. It is God's will for my life and I endeavor to do my very best with His help. My Expectations of My Students: To learn to listen, think and then obey with a good attitude. To do their best for the Lord, in all things Ecc. 9:10 & I Cor 10:31
